Homemade Granola


This granola is very good for you, easy to make and sooooooooooo deeeelicious!

It is full of “good” fats, omega-3 fatty acids, protein and fiber! This granola will help control your blood sugar levels, and leave you feeling full! YAY!!

You’ll wanna gobble it up as a cereal (breakfast or snack!), eat it the way it is, or you can place it in mason jars and give it to family and friends as gifts!


10 cups of oats

2 cups of unsalted sunflower seeds

1 cup of raw almonds, coarsely chopped

1 cup of raw pecans, coarsely chopped

1/2 cup of whole flax seeds

2 teaspoons of cinnamon*

1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg*

1/2 cup of sunflower oil

1/2 cup of maple syrup

1 1/2 cups of Thompson raisins

*use organic if possible for the most flavour


  • Preheat oven to 300F
  • In a large bowl, combine the oats, seeds, nuts and spices
  • In a small bowl, mix together oil and maple syrup
  • Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly
  • Spread the granola between two (2) baking sheets lined with parchment paper
  • Depending on the size of your oven, bake one at a time or both
  • Every 10 minutes, take the baking sheet(s) out of the oven to turn/stir the granola, then place back in the oven and continue cooking for another 10 minutes, for a total of between 25 – 30 minutes cooking time
  • Granola is done when it is a golden brown
  • Place the cooked granola in a big bowl, add the raisins and mix thoroughly
  • Let cool and store in an airtight container or mason jars
  • The granola will keep for about two (2) weeks
